Upgrading the Cireson Control Center

You can only upgrade the Cireson Control Center by using the Installer. Manual installations are unsupported.

InformationOnly a summary of the steps required are provided here. Where relevant, cross-references to the relevant sections of this document containing the full details for performing a process (including screenshots) are included.

To upgrade from a previous version of the Cireson Control Center to the current version:

  1. Download the latest version of the Control Center as detailed in the “Downloading the Cireson Control Center” section.
  2. Ensure the minimum version of Microsoft .NET that is required by the Control Center is installed on the server (see the "Minimum Requirements for the Cireson Control Center" section).

Once you have completed the steps above, upgrade the Control Center using the following process.

Using the Installer to upgrade from a previous version of the Cireson Control Center

To use the Installer to upgrade from a previous version of the Cireson Control Center:

  1. Logon to the server hosting the Control Center using the same user account as that used to perform the prior installation of the Control Center.
  2. Follow the instructions in the “Running the Control Center Installer” section.
InformationWhen the Control Center Installer is run, all values entered in the wizard are written out to the setup.config XML file which is located in the following folder (where <user_ID> is the ID of the user that logged on to perform the previous installation of the Control Center):

C:\Users\<user_ID>\AppData\Roaming\Control Center Installer

When you run the Installer, it automatically checks for the presence of this file in this location for the current logged on user. If the file is found, the Installer automatically reads in the values from this file and populates the wizard.

As you work your way through the Installer to perform the upgrade, verify the values are still correct.
