Creating the Commence Task Sequence

Now that we have created, customized, and distributed the Commence boot image, we now need to create an OSD Task Sequence to call it.

To create the Task Sequence for Commence:

  1. Start the Configuration Manager Console if it is not already started.
  2. Click the Software Library workspace.

  1. Navigate to Operating Systems | Task Sequences

  1. On the Ribbon, click Create Task Sequence

The Create Task Sequence Wizard will be displayed.

  1. On the Create New Task Sequence page, select the Create a new custom task sequence option then click Next

  1. On the Task Sequence Information page, enter a name for the task sequence in the Task sequence name field, for example, Commence (and an optional description), then click Browse beside the Boot image field.

  1. On the Select a Boot Image screen, select the Commence boot image created in the "Create a Boot Image for Commence" section, then click OK

  1. On the Task Sequence Information page, click Next

  1. On the Summary page, verify that everything is correct then click Next

The Progress screen will be briefly shown whilst the task sequence is created.

  1. On Completion page, click Close

The new Commence task sequence is displayed in the ConfigMgr console.

InformationLeave the ConfigMgr console open as it is required in the next section.

Now you have created the Commence Task Sequence, the next stage of the process is to customize it.
