Configuring Commence with the EndPoint Address of the Control Center server

To configure Commence with the EndPoint Address of the Control Center server:

  1. Logon to the server hosting the Control Center with the account used to install the Control Center.
  2. Navigate to the C:\inetpub\TrueCC\Commence\x64 directory.
  3. Open the Settings.cnf file.
  4. Verify and if necessary change, the value for the <EndPointAddress> line is the same as the URL (and if relevant the custom port), obtained in Step 5 of the "Discovering the EndPoint Address of the Control Center server" section, where localhost is the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the Control Center server. For example:

http://primary.cireson.com:8081/DeploymentService

InformationIf a limited number of trusted IT staff are the only ones to use Commence, setting values for the UserName and Password settings with values for an account that will be used for reimaging systems. In this way that user won’t be prompted to enter credentials every time they start Commence.

If you plan on doing this, we strongly recommend creating a dedicated OS Deployment template in the Control Center to control what this user account can do and then make sure the account only has access to this template.
  1. Save the Settings.cnf file if you modified it.
  2. Navigate to the C:\inetpub\TrueCC\Commence\x86 directory.
  3. Repeat Steps 3 to 5.

Now you have configured Commence with the EndPoint Address of the Control Center server, the next stage of the process is deciding whether you want to use the SDelete Windows Sysinternals utility to enable the Secure Format functionality in Commence or not.
