Appendix D – Preparing an Offline Installer to install the Cireson Control Center 

This Appendix details how create an offline installation bundle to install the Cireson Control Center on a server that does not have any Internet connectivity. This process consists of the following two phases:

aCreating the Offline Installer bundle on a computer with an Internet connection

To create the Offline Installer bundle for the Control Center on a computer with an Internet connection: 

  1. Logon to a computer running the Windows Management Framework version 5.1 or later that has Internet connectivity.
Information When you run Setup and select the Prepare Offline Installer option, a check is made to ensure your computer is running the Windows Management Framework version 5.1 or later. If your computer is not running the minimum required version of the Windows Management Framework, you will be provided with a link to download and install the latest version of the Windows Management Framework. Once you have installed the Windows Management Framework, you should reboot your computer and continue from Step 3.
  1. Navigate to the folder containing the unzipped version of the Control Center installation files.
  2. Right-click Setup.exe and select Run as administrator

  1. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click Yes

The Welcome screen will then be displayed.

  1. On the Welcome screen, click Prepare Offline Installer

The Prepare Offline Installer text will change to Preparing Offline Installer, this may take a few minutes with a blue scrolling underline.

During this time the required files will be downloaded to the following temporary folder:

C:\Users\<user_ID>\AppData\Local\Temp\CPEXOffline\<random_ID>\OfflineZip

where <user_ID> is the ID of the user that logged on to create the offline installation files.

Once the required files have been downloaded, the Control Center Offline media created dialog box will be displayed stating:

To install Control Center on an Internet disconnected server, copy the CmpOffline.zip to the server, extract it and run Setup. Click OK to open the file location.

  1. Click OK which will close the Control Center Offline media created dialog box and open a Windows Explorer window showing the CmpOffline.zip file containing the downloaded files.

  1. Copy the CmpOffline.Zip file to the target server.
  2. Close the Windows Explorer window showing the CmpOffline.zip file. 
  3. Click the “X in the top right-hand corner of the Welcome screen to close it.

This completes creating the Offline Installer bundle. Next, the Offline Installer bundle needs to be extracted and installed on the target server.


aInstalling the Control Center on the computer without an Internet connection

Once the Offline Installer bundle has been created and transferred to the target computer without an Internet connection, to install the Control Center:

  1. Extract the CmpOffline.Zip file to the required folder.
  2. In the folder containing the extracted installation files, right-click Setup.exe and select Run as administrator

  1. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click Yes

The Welcome screen will then be displayed.

  1. Click Let’s get started!

  1. Continue from Step 7. in the "Running the Control Center Installer" section.
This completes the process for preparing and installing an Offline bundle of the Control Center.
