Cireson Portal Requirements

The Cireson Portal must be installed on a server that has the following hardware and software requirements:

  • System Center Service Manager 2012, 2012 R2, 2016. Install must be on the same server as the web site/cache builder.
  • Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016.
  • Note: Windows Server 2008 R2 is not tested or supported at this time.
  • 8 GB of RAM minimum plus 100 MB per active, concurrent analyst user in a 24 hour period.
  • 4 cores minimum, 8 for larger deployments (2 cores minimum is suitable for testing or non-production environments)
  • 1 GB of disk space.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2

Database Requirements

The ServiceManagement database (the database the Cireson Portal uses) must be installed on a server that has the following hardware and software requirements:

  • 4 cores minimum, 8 for larger deployments (2.66 GHz or higher).
  • 8 GB of RAM minimum.
  • 10 GB of disk space (with room to auto-grow as needed).
  • SQL Server Standard or Enterprise 2008 R2 SP1, 2008 R2 SP2, 2012 SP1, 2012 SP2, 2012 R2, 2014, 2016, 2016 SP1, 2016 SP2.
  • If using Cireson Analytics and the Platform Cache, please use a version of SQL above 2012 as these systems don't support SQL 2008
  • Full text search enabled.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2


AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances are supported for high availability. AlwaysOn Availability Groups are supported only when using v3.6+ (see this guide for details). All other prerequisite software will be installed by the installer for you if it is not already installed. 

The Cireson Portal will perform best when the ServiceManager and ServiceManagement databases are located on the same SQL instance. The Cireson Portal is not supported on the same SQL instance as the Service Manager data warehouse or another SQL instance located on the same server.
